Overview
In Skillways you can add a quiz as an activity. A quiz in Skillways can include short-answer or multiple-choice questions. With a quiz, you have the ability to add feedback for the multiple-choice or short-answer questions that students will see. You can assign points to each quiz question. You can also randomize the questions.
It is important to note that any activity in Skillways must be attached to a page. You can add any content to the page. This is a great way to include an introduction to the activity or instructions. Alternatively, the page can be blank or only include a title if you prefer not to add any additional content. You can also add multiple activities to a page. For example you can have a quiz and a file upload attached to the same page.
Add a Quiz Activity
To add a quiz, go to the Edit tab in the Learning Path.
Hover over the page or activity that you want the quiz to come after and click on the three dots to the far right (1).
Then click on new activity (2).
A new window will open that asks you to choose an activity type. Click on Quiz.
A new window will appear.
Set Up Your Quiz
Add the quiz name in the box at the top. Note: Make the Legend title short. It should just be a few words.
Select whether your quiz should be active or remain in draft form.
Select whether you want to show the feedback and/or randomize the questions.
Select the type of Grading.
The grading can be “manual points” which means the learner would receive all points if they complete the quiz or “participation” which allows for a complete/incomplete type of assignment without points associated. You can also choose to add a Rubric for grading. “None” means no grading is associated with the quiz.
Add the max point value and the number of attempts.
Select the Display settings that will display to the students.
Check/uncheck if you want to show the number of questions that will be in the quiz and show the attempts.
- Add Quiz Questions and Feedback
Click on add question under the Activity heading.
A new window will appear. Choose multiple choice or short answer.
For multiple-choice
Add the question (1). Then adjust the points (2). The default setting is 1 point.

Next you will add response choices.
Click on the choice button.
Add the response choice(s) (1), check if the answer is correct (2), and add feedback (3).
Feedback can be added for either correct or incorrect answers.
At any time, you can delete the question or the answer by clicking on the red trash can.

For short answer
Add the question (1), and adjust the points (2). It will default to 1 point. Then add feedback (3) if desired (Make sure to check the show feedback).

When you are done adding questions, you can return to the Edit tab as everything saves automatically.
