Overview
Syndication, in a general sense, is defined as "the sale or licensing of material for publication or broadcasting by a number of television stations, periodicals, etc."
Syndication, in Skillways, is the process of distributing content to other delivery platforms. The syndication feature is what you will use to deploy courses, paths or content created in Skillways to your LMS. Syndications can be rebranded using Themes to target distinct groups of learners. The benefit of Syndication in Skillways is that you can write a single path (one source of content) and publish it to many different LMS and courses (with potentially different themes). Skillways paths and content can be syndicated using LTI 1.1, LTI 1.3, or SCORM.
Why Syndication?
Skillways enables you to distribute content to other delivery platforms while maintaining exclusive control of the IP (Internet Protocol). Even if you have no plans to distribute your content outside of your institution, you will benefit from the architecture of this system. It can be time-consuming to update and maintain a course with multiple sections; Skillways makes it simple to make a change at the master level of the course and automatically distribute changes to all sections. Skillways has technologized deep outcomes or skills-based learning design, delivery, and analytics that support your efforts to scale.
