Overview
There are several activity types you can add to Skillways. This user guide covers how to add an assignment (graded) that requires a file upload. It is important to note that any activity in Skillways must be attached to a page. You can add any content to the page. This is a great way to include an introduction to the activity or instructions. Alternatively, the page can be blank or only include a title if you prefer not to add any additional content. You can also add multiple activities to a page. For example, you can have a quiz and a file upload attached to the same page.
Add a Page for the Assignment
Click the Edit tab from within the Learning Path.

Hover over the item that you want the assignment to come after and click the three dots to the far right.
Then click on a new page.

Add the name of the assignment.

Click Save. This will save the name of the page.

Once you click Save, the content editor will appear.
You can then add content such as instructions for the assignment - then click the Save button at the bottom of the page.

The new page will appear under the module in the left-hand navigation.

Add a File Upload Activity for the Assignment
Hover over the page you just created (in the left-hand navigation) and click the three dots to the far right. Then click on new activity.

A new window will open that asks you what type of activity. Click on File Upload.

A new window will appear.

Add the activity or assignment name in the box at the top. Note: Make the Legend title short. It should just be a few words.

Select whether it should be active or remain in draft form.

Under Activity, you will see the Upload a File link indicating this activity requires a file upload. There is no need to upload anything on your end.

Select the Grading and Display for this activity.

You can also enable conversation for the activity. Conversations are not graded. See the user guide How Do I Enable A Discussion Conversation In A Different Activity? on how to use this feature.

When you are done, click Save.
